RackBank Announces New Data Centre in Indore, To House 60,000 GPUs

Data centre company RackBank has recently announced its plan to build a purpose-built AI data centre in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, that could house around 60,000 Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).

The infrastructure will offer flexible rack density options between 50kW and 150kW and is designed for scalability to accommodate future AI computing needs.

It will feature innovative cooling solutions such as air cooling, liquid cooling, and Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDHX).

According to the company, the data centre will also be Blackwell-ready for NVIDIA’s upcoming GPU architecture.

The data centre is expected to create numerous direct jobs and potentially thousands more in related industries. It will also serve as a hub for collaboration between academia, industry, and government, fostering an ecosystem of innovation and technological advancement.

The data centre is set to begin operations in Q4 2024, with plans for full capacity by Q3 2025, the company revealed.

The AI Datacenter’s foundation stone has been laid today by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

India’s AI future.” he said.

“This facility will not only accelerate our nation’s AI capabilities but also attract top talent and investments from around the world,

realising our vision of India as a centre of excellence for AI by 2030,” Narendra Sen, founder & CEO of RackBank Datacenters, said.
