Ola Krutrim Brings an Early Diwali for Indian AI Developers

Bhavish Aggarwal’s Ola Krutrim is now offering free credits for Krutrim for students and faculties of all IITs in the country. Speaking at the recent INAE Annual Convention 2024 at IIT Delhi, Aggarwal said that he is willing to give free Krutrim credits to all IITs for any number of years.

“Keeping our founder Bhavish Aggarwal’s promise, we’re now offering free कृत्रिम (Krurtrim) credits to all IIT students and faculty,” announced Krutrim on a LinkedIn post.

In May, Ola had launched Krutrim AI Cloud, its own cloud platform for enterprises, researchers, and developers. Additionally, the company had also introduced a standalone Android app for its AI assistant, providing state of the art AI computing infrastructure, including Krutrim’s foundational models.

The Krutrim Cloud was also made free for all developers till Diwali, starting from the Ola Sankalp Event in August this year.

Just a few days back, Aggarwal announced that Krutrim will power the LLM services for the Kumbh Sah’AI’yak app, an AI chatbot unveiled today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Designed for Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, which is taking place from January 13th to February 26th 2025 in Prayagrag, the chatbot aims to enhance the experience of devotees in the city, showcasing a groundbreaking blend of culture and technology.

Ola Consumer, led by Aggarwal, also is testing 10-minute food deliveries in Bengaluru using the Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform. Customers can now place orders through the Ola app and experience ultra-fast service.

Earlier this month, Aggarwal also announced that he has committed 1.1 percent of the company’s equity, valued at approximately INR 452 crore based on the current market capitalisation, to support and grow his AI venture, Krutrim, by raising funds through debentures.
