Midjourney’s Niji Feature, A New Era of Personalised Anime Art

Midjourney launched personalisation for Niji (anime) models last Friday following their shift into the hardware business. This new development comes following their significant shift from discord server to website allowing free trials, that noticed a starking shift in user engagement on the platform. It has also announced new and improved features with the Midjourney 6.1 version in the recent past.

To activate this feature, as instructed on Midjourney’s X post users need to visit the website and navigate to the ‘Tasks’ section. From there they can select the ‘Rank Niji’ option. After ranking approximately 200 images, which typically takes around five minutes, users can enable personalisation by adding ‘–p’ to their prompts.

The Niji feature is exciting for existing users who have already grown accustomed to the platform’s capabilities. By training the model on their own unique tastes, users can generate even more personalised and satisfying results.

The Outcome

Many users have already taken to the internet and shared their personalised artworks on the platform, showing positive feedback and appreciation for the feature.

‘tabi_yume’ a user of the platform, has used the new update to compare the results generated by the same prompt on Flux and Midjourney and has expressed his satisfaction on the results created by Midjourney.

Midjourney has also conducted personality surveys to gain insights into the connection between personality traits and aesthetic preferences. Although there might not be a direct link to Niji’s personalisation feature, it’s clear the company is striving to create highly customized products that cater to individual tastes.

As Niji continues to evolve, the company remains committed to providing its users with innovative tools and features that empower them to create exceptional AI art.
