In a bid to help enterprise customers analyze data quickly, Microsoft recently announced that it has added an “On Your Data” function to Azure OpenAI Service that allows users to read their favorite documents and chat with ChatGPT.
Currently, in preview mode, enterprise customers can instantly develop a company-exclusive AI agent that responds with a huge amount of internal knowledge, or a bot that can interact with users based on their company’s data.

Microsoft said that Azure OpenAI On Your Data enables users to run supported chat models such as ChatGPT and GPAT-4 on their data without needing to train or fine-tune models. Further, it said that running models on their data enables them to chat on top of and analyze their data with greater accuracy and speed.
With this, enterprise customers can now unlock valuable insights that help them make better business decisions, alongside identifying trends and partners, and optimize their operations.
Microsoft said it offers customized content of conversational AI. “Because the model has access to, and can reference specific sources to support its responses, answers are not only based on its pre-trained knowledge but also on the latest information available in the designated data source,” said that team, saying that this grounding data also helps the model avoid generating responses based on outdated or incorrect information.
