The Great Indian Hiring Hackathon 2024, organised by AIM’s GenAI startup MachineHack, is back. It promises an amazing experience for data science talent across India. In its second edition, this flagship hackathon bridges the gap between aspiring data scientists and industry-leading companies through direct, skills-based recruitment.
The three-month event gives data science experts a chance to demonstrate their skills, tackle real-world problems, and interact with recruiters who are searching for bright candidates in AI and machine learning. A must-attend event for data professionals in India, this hackathon serves as a bridge to career-defining opportunities for both novices and seasoned experts.
The hackathon commences on November 1, 2024, giving participants access to problem statements and the submissions portal. November 18 marks the start of the shortlisting process, during which collaborating companies will begin evaluating leaderboard performers for interview opportunities. The event culminates on January 26, 2025, with the release of the ‘Private Leaderboard’, revealing final standings and recognising top talent.

What to Expect?
The challenges in the Great Indian Hiring Hackathon 2024 are designed to challenge participants’ analytical skills, creativity, and technical abilities. Each participant must submit a code that matches their best-achieved score on the submission file, and each participant is allowed up to nine submissions per day.
These challenges allow participants to practise problem-solving in a realistic, high-stakes setting by simulating real-world issues encountered in data science professions. They assess abilities that are directly applicable to industry applications, preparing participants for future technical employment in addition to being a professional development activity.
MachineHack’s previous editions have included some of the biggest names in tech. The partner companies for this edition are yet to be announced.
