Zomato and Blinkit are Hiring AI/ML Engineers to Optimize LLMs and Drive AI Innovations

Zomato and Blinkit recently announced that it is expanding its GenAI team, seeking AI/ML engineers skilled in optimising large language models(LLMs), fine-tuning, and RLHF to scale AI solutions that enhance real world food and grocery experiences, with their team having grown from 3 to over 20 engineers in just a year.

The generative AI head Vaibhav Bhutani, who is working on building a central AI team for Zomato and its quick commerce business Blinkit, took to LinkedIn to announce a hiring alert for AI based tech engineers who specialise in optimising large language models with state-of-the-art technique.

Based out of Gurgaon, the opportunity is open to interns and senior engineers. The call to action is clear: “Whether you’re an intern hungry to learn or a senior engineer ready to lead, you’ll have the opportunity to make a mark and shine!”

While being a pioneer in the AI tech driven delivery service platform, Zomato recently announced a ban on AI generated food images on the platform, to raise trust of its users.

Zomato’s data science team leverages AI for personalised recommendations, optimising delivery and customer engagement, while fostering a culture of ownership and innovation. “Ownership is at the core of everything we do here. Our North Star is making our customer experience the best in the world,” said Manav Gupta, head of data science at Zomato, in an interview few years ago.

Bans AI Generated Images on its Platform

Recently, Zomato announced a strong stance against the use of AI-generated images for food dishes in restaurant menus, citing customer trust concerns and negative impacts on business.

Zomato chief Deepinder Goyal revealed that AI-generated images have led to customer complaints, resulting in higher refund rates and lower ratings for restaurants.

“We urge our restaurant partners to avoid using AI for dish images in restaurant menus from now onwards — we will actively start removing such images from menus by the end of this month. And will stop accepting AI generated dish images (as much as we can detect them using automation),” said Goyal.
