TCS Expands AI Services with NVIDIA Partnership, Deepens Vodafone Idea Ties

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced two major AI initiatives, aimed at advancing global retail and Indian telecom customer experience.

The company is integrating NVIDIA Accelerated Computing into its retail products and solutions, aiming to help retailers adopt next-generation AI capabilities at lower costs.

In an official release, TCS said it is embedding NVIDIA AI Enterprise software to drive innovation, differentiation and growth for retailers worldwide and bring advanced AI, computer vision and digital twin capabilities into its retail offerings.

Krishnan Ramanujam, president of consumer business group at TCS, stated, “We help retailers gain a competitive advantage and unlock new sources of growth by combining our deep domain experience with next-generation technology at speed and scale.”
“Together with NVIDIA, we are setting a new standard for AI excellence, superior store operations and dynamic supply chain management in an industry that demands constant innovation and agility.”

TCS noted that retailers using its solutions on NVIDIA’s technology stack could potentially save up to 75% in operating costs. The Indian IT company said it has already developed specialised solutions for generative AI-powered content, video analytics for inventory, and real-time AI insights on pricing.

Azita Martin, vice president and general manager of AI for retail, CPG and QSR at NVIDIA, said, “By integrating NVIDIA’s technologies into their platforms, TCS is able to help retailers automate operations, deliver personalised experiences, and simulate business and operation scenarios with faster performance.”

TCS currently runs a dedicated NVIDIA business unit, offering 12 solutions across industries and nine centres of excellence.
The company has also announced a five-year partnership with Vodafone Idea (Vi), focused on transforming Vi’s business support system (BSS) through an AI-driven, future-ready platform.

The engagement will deploy TCS’ flagship offerings, TCS HOBS and TCS TwinX, to modernise Vi’s customer relationship systems with increased automation, intelligence and personalisation.

Jagbir Singh, group chief technology officer, Vodafone Idea Limited, said, “With this partnership, Vi is embarking on a transformative journey to redefine customer experience. By modernising our BSS platforms embedded with AI-driven innovation, we are setting a new standard to deliver faster, smarter and more personalised digital experiences.”

Singh added that the collaboration marks a significant milestone towards innovation, operational efficiency and delivering an unmatched experience to customers.

TCS HOBS will function as the digital backbone of Vi’s BSS, enabling seamless integration and agility across customer touchpoints, while TCS TwinX will provide AI/ML-powered intelligence and scenario simulation for enhanced responsiveness and personalisation.

Ujjwal Mathur, president and country head of India business at TCS, said, “The transformation programme for Vodafone Idea is built on 15 years of relationship with TCS.”
“By leveraging our advanced AI capabilities and flagship products, TCS HOBS and TCS TwinX, we are committed to transforming customer engagement and operational efficiency for Vodafone Idea. This initiative marks a pivotal step in driving AI-led transformation of Vi’s core Business Support System.”

TCS said it continues to support over one billion telecom subscribers globally, applying its expertise across modernisation, operations, networks, IT and beyond.
