Upcoming features for Ola Maps include street view, neural radiance fields (NERFs), indoor images, 3D maps, and drone maps.

Ola Maps API is now available on Krutrim Cloud, offering a suite of location services designed to support enterprises focusing on localised location services. These foundational services include Places API, Tiles API, Routing APIs, and Navigation SDKs for both iOS and Android.

The Places API facilitates the search for specific locations such as restaurants, hotels, or charging stations, providing detailed information about these places. The Tiles API enhances map loading efficiency by displaying only necessary map sections.

The Routing/Directions API generates optimized routes, detailed directions, and travel time estimates. Navigation SDKs allow developers to integrate navigation features like turn-by-turn directions and real-time traffic updates into their apps.

Krutrim Cloud aims to build a reliable and scalable Maps Platform addressing local needs and supporting broader technological and economic initiatives in India. Additionally, Ola is developing MapGPT for natural conversations powered by location-aware AI assistants, along with community-based features for real-time traffic and road condition updates.

Ola recently introduced the Krutrim AI Cloud. They’ve migrated their entire database from AWS and Microsoft Azure to the Krutrim AI Cloud. According to an estimate, Ola will save INR 15 crore by doing this.
