HCLTech has launched its AI Force extension for GitHub Copilot on the Visual Studio Marketplace, marking a significant advancement in the software development lifecycle. This collaboration aims to enhance development workflows, boost developer flexibility, and improve code performance, positioning HCLTech among the first India-based tech service providers to partner with Microsoft for a GitHub Copilot extension.
The AI Force extension, integrated with GitHub Copilot Chat, addresses a variety of development needs, including legacy modernisation, migration, DevOps, automation, support, and continuous feedback. This broad integration scope enables clients to embed intelligence and automation across every stage of engineering.
“With the AI Force extension, our clients will achieve benefits beyond enhanced coding experiences such as improved efficiencies, greater productivity and time-to-market acceleration,” said Vijay Guntur, CTO and head of ecosystems, HCLTech. “This integration helps them reduce technical debt and develop better quality software that is easier to maintain.”
Sangita Singh, general manager of ITES at Microsoft India, emphasized the collaboration’s value, stating, “We are thrilled to strengthen our collaboration with HCLTech through the integration of AI Force with GitHub Copilot. This partnership underscores our commitment to empowering developers with cutting-edge tools that enhance productivity and drive innovation. By combining HCLTech’s expertise in AI and automation with Microsoft’s advanced developer technologies, we are enabling our clients to achieve unprecedented efficiencies and accelerate their digital transformation journeys.”
This move reinforces HCLTech’s commitment to helping clients drive value and operational efficiency through advanced AI-driven tools, setting new standards in the global technology landscape.
HCLTech has also partnered with Inspeq AI, an Irish-Indian technology firm to aid enterprises worldwide in responsibly developing and integrating AI applications. This collaboration positions Inspeq AI as the youngest company to partner with HCLTech on such an initiative.
The alliance aims to embed a Responsible AI (RAI) layer into application development, seamlessly integrating with existing toolchains like Microsoft Co-Pilot, AWS Bedrock, and other business applications.
