Preeti Lobana has been appointed the new country manager and vice president for Google India after nine years with the company.
In her new role, Lobana will head Google’s operations in India, working to drive business growth and foster digital inclusion by using the company’s technological innovations.

She highlighted the significant potential AI has to unlock opportunities for businesses, increase productivity, and address critical challenges.
Welcoming Lobana to her new role, Google’s Asia Pacific president Sanjay Gupta said, “With AI poised to redefine the boundaries of what’s possible, I am incredibly excited to welcome my colleague Preeti Lobana as our new country manager and vice president for India.”
Gupta also expressed his enthusiasm for the future of India’s digital economy and said, “India’s vibrant digital landscape has always been a source of immense inspiration and innovation for Google.”
He pointed out that Lobana’s leadership and focus on customer-centricity had already led to impactful solutions for businesses across industries. He expressed confidence in her ability to help Google deepen its engagement with India’s ecosystem and drive digital inclusion.
Lobana will work closely with Roma Datta Chobey, who served as the interim country manager and will continue her leadership as managing director for Google India’s Digital Native Industries, Media and Entertainment, and Government.
“Roma’s expertise across diverse sectors, from e-commerce and fintech to gaming and media, will be invaluable as we accelerate innovation and growth for these dynamic businesses,” Gupta said.
