Since its release early last week, Claude Artifacts has helped designers, developers, product managers, and sales teams to turn their ideas into reality. Now available on iOS and android, it is touted to be more user friendly and visually appealing than its competitors, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT plugins.
Audio Visualiser
Shubham Sahoo, an expert on GPT-3, NSP, & LLMs, created an audio visualiser in just 30 seconds. According to him, artifacts significantly boosted apps by 10x compared to other existing LLMs.
AI Sound Effects Generator App
Ammaar Reshi, the head of design at ElevenLabs, used this feature (along with ElevenLab’s API) to create a sound effect generation tool.
Scalable Vector Graphics Builder
Aaron Ng, the founder of Hyper AI, a YC-backed startup, built an SVG builder with custom parameters within minutes. Inspired by it, Meng To also built an SVG pattern builder with 16 iterations.
Colour Palette Generator
Deaming Tulpa, a coder and AI whisperer, made a Claude artifact that creates color palette grids from scratch that can be fed to Midjourney as a style reference image. This is especially interesting for those interested in accelerating their AI art projects.
AI in Education
Ethan Mollick, a Wharton professor focussed on AI and startups, used the sharing and remix function of Artifacts to create an interactive simulation to teach about startup financing and VC liquidation. He believes that this was better than his current way of showing liquidation preferences.
Additionally, Satvik Paramkusham, the founder of BuildFastWithAI, created an animation simulating projectile motion using Artifacts. This would be a blow to static textbooks as custom animations and images for a plethora of topics could be created within minutes.
AI in Video Prompting
Heather Cooper, an AI educator & consultant in the visual storytelling space, created a cinematic video prompt generator using Artifacts. While Claude created a text template, she followed it up with requests to make the tool interactive.
Games
Alvaro Cintas, an AI expert and professor, created a memory card game and saw his code come to life.
David Hershey, an AI generalist, also used this tool to create old-school flash game websites.
3D Galaxy Formation
Rohan Paul, an AI engineer and LLM enthusiast, created a 3D galaxy formation with 1000 particles under gravitational influence in less than a minute.
Custom Wordle
Pallav Agarwal, an AI enthusiast and software engineer, employed Render React and TalwindCSS code to create ‘Custom Wordle’.
Business Intelligence Infographics Report
Min Choi, an AI educator, created an infographic report of Tesla’s Q1 2024 results.
While still in its early stages, many believe Anthropic has aced the product AI game with Artifacts. Its story is very telling about how small tweaks can make AI systems even more engaging.
“When I started building the prototype, there was a degree of just investigating to see how much of this was possible only by using prompt engineering. Claude was very willing to play along and I had a proof of concept working in much less time than I anticipated. Eventually, around 2 AM, I felt like I had a pretty strong prototype and posted it to Slack. And the rest is history,” said Michael Wang of Anthropic AI, while building this feature.
