Lenskart’s AI Smartglasses, B, are Now Open to Indian Developers

Lenskart has announced that it will open access to its upcoming AI-powered camera smartglasses, B by Lenskart, to India’s developer ecosystem. The move will enable consumer apps and independent developers to integrate with the new device, creating applications across various sectors, including fitness, food delivery, and entertainment.

The initiative is part of Lenskart’s plan to establish India’s first full-stack wearables ecosystem by combining hardware, software and AI. The company said the smartglasses, designed and engineered in India, are set to launch by the end of December.

“This initiative will make its AI and camera technology accessible to leading consumer apps and independent developers,” Lenskart said in a statement.

The B by Lenskart smartglasses are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset and feature an integrated Sony camera for hands-free photo and video capture.

The glasses also include a built-in AI assistant powered by Gemini 2.5 Live, which supports voice commands for payments, translations and wellness tracking. The device weighs 40 grams, making it lighter than most comparable smartglasses.

Lenskart aims to leverage its retail network and manufacturing control to lead India’s entry into the AI-powered wearables market. The company has also invested in extended reality and AI startups such as AjnaLens to build its technology ecosystem.

Industry analysts predict that the global smartglasses market will reach up to $5 billion by 2030, growing at an annual rate of 30%, with India among the fastest-growing regions.

Lenskart stated that it remains focused on creating eyewear that combines comfort with innovation, reaffirming its conviction that “smartglasses are glasses first”.
