Vertiv , a global provider of critical digital infrastructure solutions, today introduced the Vertiv Trinergy
uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and Vertiv
PowerNexus integrated solution to address the high-capacity power demands driven by AI and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.
With global electricity demand from data centers expected to double by 2026, largely due to AI and HPC, robust backup power is crucial for ensuring continuous availability.
The Vertiv Trinergy UPS, available globally in 1500, 2000, and 2500 kVA capacities, is engineered to handle the fluctuating load demands of data centers. It boasts a projected uptime of 99.9999998 percent, exceeding Tier IV data center power chain availability expectations.
The system’s modular architecture features 500kW physically segregated cores that operate independently to provide reliable, uninterrupted power delivery even during maintenance.
“High-capacity power in a highly reliable system design is critical for data-intensive AI and HPC applications,” stated Kyle Keeper, SVP of power management global business unit at Vertiv. “Vertiv Trinergy
UPS offers the resilience essential for operations to become future-ready and to support AI loads.
It delivers the flexibility required to adapt to various AI applications and is designed to integrate seamlessly with different prime and backup power sources.”
The Vertiv Trinergy scales modularity across all levels of the UPS architecture, resulting in considerable space savings. When integrated with Vertiv PowerBoard Switchgear as part of the Vertiv PowerNexus solution, the footprint is further maximized through close coupling and internal busbar connections. This reduces cabling, installation time, and labor costs.
The UPS delivers a double conversion efficiency of up to 97.1%, increasing to 99% with Dynamic Online mode. This minimizes cooling system consumption and enables overall TCO reduction.
Additional cost savings and revenue generation are possible through the Dynamic Grid Support feature, allowing participation in demand management and grid services where available.
Vertiv Trinergy is compatible with the Vertiv DynaFlex Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enabling the use of alternative energy sources for backup or primary power as part of a bring your own power (BYOP) strategy. Replacing diesel generators can lower mean time to repair (MTTR) and contribute to decarbonization efforts.
