The CEO of Microsoft Corp, Satya Nadella, is scheduled to visit India on February 7 and 8 as part of his annual trip to the country. The primary focus for the year 2024 will revolve around the theme of AI and the myriad opportunities it presents.
In an internal communication sent a few weeks ago, Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, highlighted that Nadella’s upcoming visit underscores Microsoft’s dedication to leveraging technology to broaden opportunities within the country.
According to the email, “AI is playing a transformative role in influencing ‘India’s Techade,’ positioning India and South Asia as one of the most dynamic technology markets.”
One important topic was the power of technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence, to help improve the lives of Indians. India is home to one of the most vibrant developer and start-up ecosystems in the world, and Microsoft remains deeply committed to the growth of Indian technology – that will impact both India and markets across the globe,” Microsoft’s statement said.
Recently, Microsoft hosted a forum inviting startup founders across diverse industries to share their views on the AI opportunity for startups in India, opening a dialogue on the potential of AI to accelerate innovation and growth for the sector. In the last few years, India’s startup ecosystem has seen massive momentum, with technology playing a critical role in spurring growth and scalability.
The roundtable included Pratik Desai, Founder and CEO at Kissan.ai, Laina Emmanuel, Co-founder and CEO at BrainSightAI, and Lakshman Pasala, Co-founder and CEO at NeverInstall. They discussed how the integration of AI significantly amplifies the opportunity to drive impact for startups. The experts discussed what’s needed to create a positive startup ecosystem, the factors that will increase AI adoption and learnings from their own AI journey.
